Daisies Early Education and Care Centre Fees

We have simplified our fee structure as far as possible to make it easier to understand and administer. All rates are GST inclusive.

Children up to 2 years, 6 months

Full day: $395 per week

This rate gives families complete flexibility to access childcare Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6pm.

Short day option: 8.30am to 3.30pm

$340 per week

This option is available to all families and is particularly suitable for younger children who may find a full day quite stressful. It is also designed to suit families with older school aged siblings.

Children enrolled on this basis should not be dropped off before 8.30am and must be collected by 3.30pm or late fees will apply. A discount for a sibling attending Daisies is available. This is $15 a week for the sibling.

Daisies mostly enrols children full time, 5 days per week (with no preference between full days or short days). We have a very limited number of part-time places available - a maximum of only five places are allocated to part-week children, to be allocated across no more than 10 children.

The daily rate for part time children will be $79 per day or $68 per day for the short day option.

Although we do operate a waiting list, sometimes places come available at short notice and it is then a matter of filling the place with a child who has the flexibility to start quickly. We have had situations where two places come available at the same time after a period of several months of no places coming up at all. Therefore if you do have some flexibility please do keep in touch with us as you may just be lucky.

Children over 2 years, 6 months

All children aged over 2 years 6 months must be enrolled on a 5 day week basis, i.e. the part-time option is not available for children over 2 years, 6 months. Children over 2 years, 6 months can however continue to be enrolled on a short day basis, 5 days per week.

Daisies participates in the Government's "20 Hours ECE" scheme for 3 and 4 year olds. Parents and guardians are required to complete an attestation form stating the days and hours (upto 6 hours per day, 20 hours per week) they want provided by Daisies under this scheme. In practise we would expect all parents / guardians to request the full 20 hours as all 3 and 4 year olds must be enrolled full time.

For all children over 2 years, 6 months (assuming families of 3 and 4 year olds have signed the attestation for the full 20 hours), the following fees apply:

Full day: $295 per week

Short day option: 8.30am to 3.30pm

$240 per week

This option is available to all families and is designed to fit around a school day, particularly for families with older school aged siblings.

Children enrolled on this basis should not be dropped off before 8.30am and must be collected by 3.30pm or late fees will apply.

For families of 3 and 4 year olds who have not signed the "20 Hours ECE" attestation, the fees will be the same as for children under 2 years, 6 months.

Note: For children transitioning from part-time to full time at age 2 years, 6 months it will be Daisies' responsibility to make available a full-time place, noting that this may not be possibleon all occasions on their exact 2.5 year birthday but we would expect to effect this transition by the age of 33 or 34 months at the latest. Daisies will work with families to make this transition as easy as possible.

Note on Government Subsidies

The government subsidises teacher-lead education and care services for all licensed centres on a rate per attending child basis. Subsidies are provided in respect of every hour a child attends up to a maximum of 30 hours per week. The rates outlined above take all of these funding subsidies into account. Differentials in funding rates are applied by the government as follows:

  • Children aged 3 and 4 are funded by government at a higher rate for centres offering the "Free ECE" service for up to 20 hours per week only.
  • Children aged under 2 years are funded at a higher rate than children aged 2 and over (up to 30 hours per week). The rate of funding per hour for under 2s is roughly the same as the "Free ECE" rate for 3 and 4 year olds.
  • The funding rate for all age groups increases with a higher proportion of qualified and registered staff. Rates are calculated based on the proportion of registered staff on duty at any point in time (i.e. staff on non-contact time are not counted). The regulated minimum proportion of qualified staff per centre is 50%.
  • No government funding is provided for hours attended in excess of 30 hours per week. For 3 and 4 year olds, a reduced rate of government funding applies for hours attended in excess of 20 but less than 30.
  • Latest funding rates are outlined on the Ministry of Education website (refer Links page)

Payment Policies

All fees must be paid in advance by automatic payment. Fees may be paid monthly or fortnightly. Overdue fees will attract a 10% penalty charge. Fees are to be paid for 52 weeks per year. Fees are required regardless of statutory holidays, illness, family vacation times, or teacher only days (two annually). This means that automatic payment facilities do not have to be re-set.

Late fees and other optional charges may be paid in cash or by internet banking.

On confirmed enrolment, a non-refundable administration fee of $150 is payable. Fees are payable in advance and the first payment of 2 weeks must be paid in full before starting. This is in addition to the administration fee. Any prepaid fees will be refunded at the time your child leaves the centre, less any fees outstanding at that time.

Receipts are issued at the end of the each tax year or as requested.

Work and Income NZ subsides are available for families on low incomes.
